Primary Venture Partners is looking to hire an Incubation Operations Lead to support our incubation efforts within Primary Labs. Primary is an early-stage venture capital firm with $1B AUM, investing in pre-seed and seed-stage startups based in New York City.

The firm’s Incubation arm launched to support the ideation, research and launch of new startups. Primary’s first three incubated companies will return its first fund many times over, and Primary is now primed for substantial growth in its incubation efforts in 2023. About This Role

We’re excited to welcome our first Incubation Operations Lead to the Primary Labs team.

This person will work directly with Brian Schechter, a Partner at Primary who manages incubations for the firm, to ensure the overall success of Primary Labs.

This will include recruiting, onboarding and supporting Operators-in-Residence, collaborating with other Primary Labs team members – Designer, Research and Engineer in Residence, overseeing the operational requirements of Primary Labs, such as expense management, resource allocation, and more, while working closely with Partners at the firm on building out founding teams.  Additionally, this person will work with Brian and other firm leaders to set the strategy and vision for Primary Labs, helping us think through how incubations at Primary scale and we position ourselves to build the best studio in the world.

What You'll Do

You’ll partner with Brian and the Incubation team to do the following:

• Manage the strategic planning for Primary Labs on a quarterly basis including owning KPIs and targets
• Manage the process for recruiting OIRs and other Primary Labs team members, including board partners; we utilize embedded recruiters to drive these searches
• Facilitate Primary Labs team meetings ensuring operational efficiency
• Oversee the distribution and use of resources, including physical assets like office space and equipment, and intangible assets like funding and time spent
• Manage HR logistics for the incubation team including salary, insurance, and general inquiries
• Work with finance team to ensure financial oversight
• Serve as the primary point of contact for various stakeholders internal to Primary, communicating the incubator’s needs, mission, activities, and achievements
• Define and roll out reporting and performance management including OIR NPS, time to greenlight and more
• Ensure that Primary Labs is appropriately integrated into other firm wide
• Work with Partners on special projects for Primary Labs
• Serve as a resource for general troubleshooting
